every time i try to record in cool edit pro it crashes

every time I press the record button to record in CEP 2.1 it crashes. Does anyone know why?

Could you provide more information such as what version of Windows are you running? Do any messages appear and, if so, what do they say? Where did you get CEP 2.1? Do you know how to read the Event Log to look for additional messages?
