Solved! Extended displays with laptop

I can extend displays from my laptop using a docking station. However, is there a means of disabling the laptop display so that nothing will open on it as I have it closed and sitting in a laptop stand?

When you close the lid it should use the external display as the main display and not send anything to the laptop screen. Is it not doing that? How do you know things are trying to display on that closed screen?

My initial problem is that when I do close the laptop, all screens go blank, so I've actually been leaving the laptop open (I should have edited my question). To get it to do what you've stated, how may I close the laptop lid w/o disabling the extended monitors?

Set the close lid action in the power options to do nothing.
