External dvd ?

Our satellite internet is so bad (our only option) that we can’t watch a movie w/o it stopping every 2 minutes (not to mention, it uses up a lot of data units) - really a bad service. Anyway, I’m thinking I could just go back to the old - fashioned way and attach a DVD player and get discs (from the library !) and watch them thru the fancy Samsung hd tv - will that work ? If so, what should I look for in a player ? Thanks.

Really any DVD player you get will be fine, if you want to be in the modern age, get a bluray player. That will play both DVDs and blurays. Stick with the major brands unless you want early issues.
