External gpu with Laptop Help

Hey, Im buying a new "gaming" laptop and i saw that the asus rog models had the thunder bolt port so i was wondering if i can use this port for a external gpu in the feature?

As far as I know, no video card will work though thunderbolt. It is theoretically possible, but never implemented.
