Solved! External Video only

Hello, I have a Hp DV5000 laptop that will only display external video. I have tried different monitors and the backlight comes on but no video except on external monitor.

It is probably an issue with the inverter, which is responsible for transferring the graphics image(s) to the screen. If it is under warranty, send it in to HP and have them deal with it. Otherwise than that, you could bring it to someone or perhaps try and replace the inverter yourself.
