well i got me a decent tax return coming in, but i can't waste it all... i would like a decent digital camera. as near as i can tell they are more or less all equal with the main difference being the optical zoom capabilities. if i am wrong, then i am wrong... and i'm sure you'll all let me know...

my big question has to do with a camera i saw at Newegg. it is 4MP with 8x optical zoom and is selling for $200. i looked at the manufacturer website and they are selling it for $400. i don't know why newegg has it so cheap, but i want some opinions on this camera.

It has fairly decent specs but I think it is still probably worth only $200. One thing that stood out was that it is only USB 1.1. That wont be a problem if you use a separate card reader but not having usb 2 is just stupid for a digital camera.
If you want to be sure you are getting a quality camera I'd go with a more well known brand like Canon, Nikon, Olypus, etc. Check out the Canon Powershot cameras on newegg or elsewhere. Those things really kick ass :)
