I have a gigabyte 970DS3 board and recently bought F&D F3000-F 5.1 speakers. I have set the system all right and all the separate speakers are working except one. the rear left.
I have configured them one by one on realtek and only one I cannot play.
Do I need to have a sound card?
Do I need to upgrade my Realtek version?

To find out where the problem comes from you should first take the speaker that does not work and connect it in place of one of the other satellites that does. If the bad speaker stays bad then the speaker itself is at fault. If not then the problem might be in the main unit of the speakers where the 3.5mm connection from the PC goes. Try the USB input of the speakers. If the speaker is still not working then the problem is in the speaker package. Since it is new you should be able to get a replacement.
After this point you will need to check the cable from the PC to the speakers. Then you have to check your PC. If the motherboard audio is not working then a sound card would help but not otherwise.
