Sheesh, this isnt a social networking or facebook or hacking or anything like that situation. It is stupid people doing stupid things, there is nothing inherently wrong with social networking sites, porn sites, malware sites or anything similar to these things. Stop placing responsibility solely on the sites themselves. People make them popular and stupid people make them overflow with wrong doing. I use facebook, so what, but I dont go around putting vital information into it either. I also dont use simple passwords or passwords on it that I even consider to share with any other site I use like banking etc... Its all about common sense people...

If you place faith in people like facebook to protect you, then YOU are the idiot. Not facebook. Come on people take responsibility for your actions and place blame where blame is due. Is it wrong that hacking/bad intentions happen, to a degree... But if you walk down a dark alley in a bad part of town with large dollars bills hanging out your pants yelling you cant wait to get murdered and you have no friends or family who would miss you, why cry foul when you get ganked...

Sheesh... society is really going down the drain and enjoys pointing the finger on its way down... Flame on...

[citation][nom]thackstonns[/nom]Man I hope facebook dies off. It is annoying and I cant wait to delete my page (only reason I dont close it now, is so I dont get a million emails about why im not on facebook anymore). It was a failed social experiment.[/citation]

First thing I thought of when I read this was The Matrix, where Agent Smith tells Neo about the first Matrix.

"Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was redesigned to this: the peak of your civilization."

[citation][nom]hellwig[/nom]Facebook's privacy settings issues and higher-ups getting their accounts hacked. Twitter having to reset followers back to zero to correct a bug. These are signs of the apocalypse. This is truly the end of days. But fear not, for the rapture is nearly upon us. The computer gods will judge each of us according to the electronic lives we chose to live, and those of us deemed worthy will be taken to internet heaven. Those left behind will be be forced to battle the forces of hell that will be unleashed from the smoldering corpses of Facebook and Twitter. In the end, the earth will be wiped clean, and the chosen will return to live eternal life with an internet devoid of inane celebrity tweets and friends begging you to water their crops. Lo, it will be a glorious day indeed.[/citation]
LOL

So they are serious about security, just not their users privacy when it comes to opening up all your information for their partners?
