Few questions about uploading to YouTube

Me and my friend decided we where going to record some gameplay and upload it to YouTube but I can only get my videos around 600MB.
I would like to know if I upload a 1GB movie is it the same size to watch/download?

I don't want to upload huge videos and find out I can't watch them as they are two big?

I believe youtube uses bzip compression for when people are watching videos but I may be mistaken.

So you upload the huge file to YouTube the. When someone watches it it is compressed streamed to the device an uncompressed?

I believe so yes - it is quite a standard procedure for distributing large content over the web.
