Find my stolen laptop using the serial number

if I have the serial number for my Hp pavillion and a suspect is there any way to find out if this person is using my stolen computer?

No. Not unless you have physical access to it and check the serial#.

Unfortunately there is no way to track it unless you have lojack on the unit. If you do have the serial number I have some suggestions.
1. Contacting your local law enforcement and report it stolen
2. Contact the manufacturer and report it stolen as well.

Hi I'm new to the forum. I was reading some of the topics regarding stolen laptops. I may have a solution that may be of help. Yes you can search and post the serial number to your stolen laptop on a worldwide database site for Stolen Computer Registry http://www.stolencomputers.org/home.html.

Once you sign up, you can register the serial number of your laptop to the database. It's a non-profit organization and is free of charge to view and post serial numbers for lost or stolen computers. Good luck and I hope you will be able to retrieve your laptop.
