I'm not entirely sure where to post this, so I'm throwing it in the general board.

I'm trying to get my parents' old VCR/DVD player working again. The issue: it will play audio but not video for either side. This thing was in storage for at least 10 years, so issues are not really unexpected. However, it powers on just fine, rewinds, FF, changes from VCR to DVD, all that with no issues. It's just playback.

I'm new to fixing electronics, so I'm not entirely sure where to begin troubleshooting, aside from trying different cables and TVs - which didn't work. I also opened it up to see if it needed a cleaning but it all looked pretty good.

Also, I'm sure it would be easier to just buy a different unit but I want to fix it.

Hello! hope you are well! I just want to say that if you want to fix your parents VCR/DVD you just need to Check video connections, Test on a different TV, Clean playback heads so I think you can fix it with the help of this trick.
