"Yet it's unique dual-mode configuration remains unique over forty years later."

Redundant use of the word "unique" is redundant... ;)

it has to be towed into action...then it will stand up and can be used for deep exploration after which it will deploy some equipment. remind you of something?

I wonder if crew quarters can tilt 90 degrees as well, otherwise sitting around the dinner table in the canteen would be a nightmare and sleeping whilst stood up isn't easy either.

FLIP does have one drawback. While it can fill up its entire bow without sinking into the depths, this unique seacraft can't move by itself. It requires to be towed into place before deploying.
Dude, they forgot to install an engine!

True, its old tech, but I'm glad they presented it.

I wonder if they've made an updated version of it since then. Adding an engine would be a good start.
