For incoming calls ringtone was not ringing

Check your sounds. Go into "Settings" and then "Sound". Check that all your volumes are up and not muted or on vibrate. Then test the sound you have set for incoming calls. Does it work when you set it as your ringtone choice? If yes, then great. If, however, it doesn't sound when you test it/set it, then it won't work for calls either. Just remember, even if you set a ringtone once, doesn't mean it can't be changed by other apps, etc.
