"I'd like to know how the metal crystal structure fairs, I'm guessing not so good. When you're heating the metal and adding electricity what's stopping the oxidization process within the material. For 20,000 - 100,000 I could get a good CNC mill."

You could get a good cnc machine in that price range, but then youd have to deal with waste material. The beauty of 3d printing is that there is very little to no waste since youre only using the material amount needed to make the item, you wouldnt have to deal with the excess metal shavings. Granted you could just recycle or melt down those shavings again, but youd still have to collect them. Or just feed them to your 3d metal printer :D.

The speed of technological progress is more and more fast, after only a 3D printer can make something I really like. 3D printer may later will replace the traditional manufacturing machinery. Interested in 3D print can log onto the http://goo.gl/5vTu7Z or http://shop.lxmaker.com/ view details.

The 3D printer also untold success or failure, but it is the future trend of development, have great potential for development. Making something, it is far better than the traditional manufacturing process. But there needs to be further development of new features, the types of making things more diversity, further improve the price.Interested in 3D print can log onto the http://goo.gl/2wt6LU or http://shop.lxmaker.com/ view details.

I'm mixed on this. The concept of ink jetting material vs FDM seems like a step in the right direction, however it seems like a very dangerous idea to aerosolize or create microdroplets of metals (aluminum, in particular) that could become a serious airborne biohazard. Connections between aluminum and brain disorders like alzheimer's are being researched. If it does work safely I think some of the new 3D product printing startups like YourKees (custom iPhone cases) or Jump3D ( http://www.jump3d.com/j.php?p=1&s=a ) would jump at the opportunity to print directly to superior materials. Maybe 3-5 years away?
