I can tell you are a dev. 🙂

Games can only hope for one of these two outcomes:

1) IW hires in new talent, refreshing the franchise with new game play features or...

2) The franchise dies and something refreshing and new will come out.

I love mw2, the multi, on the 360

Too bad we never hear anything about the devs from wow leaving, now that would be impressive

[citation][nom]shadow703793[/nom]LMAO. Activision deserved this. Now... when can we expect these devs to start their own company and/or get taken up by other companies (Crytek,etc)?[/citation]

The former IW heads started up Respawn Entertainment who are not owned by, but are financially backed by EA. No word on wether or not the others who have left IW will join Respawn or not.

Well there not owned by them, but EA does have rights to publish there first game which is why there funding them. I can't wait to see what they will develop in the next 1-3 years. Teaser in the near future =D If not a war game i just hope its great, just like COD4 originally was, not offense to MW2 its pretty awesome as well, but the story does suffer a lot. Playing through it again on Veteran right now and yeah the story sucked, even though it was connected in some way. It just made no sense really, anyway. Looking forward to the future of "Respawn Entertainment."

Crysis' plot is as poor as mw2's so there'd not be much gained there. Perhaps bioware could use them though. bioshock's plot is fine, only the gameplay is practically absent.

I support creative tallent so I don't mind seeing devs leave an opressive producing house, but I also feel bad: Activision sunk millions into this studio. The cost of the next CoD or MW will be very high to Activision. Not only in the required PR to cover all this up, but also in the cost to reinstantiate this studio.

[citation][nom]idisarmu[/nom]Crytek does not want them. All IW employees are good at are making static objects look pretty... seriously though, COD games only look good in screen shots. In-game, it looks like everything is frozen or made of concrete with pretty textures. Nothing is organic or soft, you just bump into something and it will NOT budge.[/citation]
True, but never the less, Crytek could combine talent. Imo, the CoD4 story line was much better than Crysis, so Crytek could learn something from them.

Hmm... if EA's backing them, that coud turn in to a problem....

They're going to join Respawn.

[citation][nom]Marco925[/nom]11 employees for a sub-100 Employee business? geez that's a huge chunk![/citation]
Not just a "huge chunk" but the brains and artistic visionaries who matter the most which chops the head off of IW and it's all Activision's doing which makes it even better because Activision has just reduced the value of their IW more than any market condition could.

I think its called "killing the goose that lays the golden eggs."

Completely off subject, but i wish that they would make old classics into new revamped/pretty games...Star Wars: Dark Forces, Wolfenstein ET, ROTT(Rise of the Triad), Hexen, Spear of Destiny,James Bond: Golden Eye(a PC version).....can't forget good ole Duke Nukem.

WoW still has developers? I thought all the real talent went towards thier new MMO. Now they just have a marine biologist and a handful of interns. I do have to admit the dungeons and art is much better than TBC though. Props to those artists.
