I have an Asus G551jw, GTX 960m i7 4720HQ. It feels like my GPU is locking it's frame rates, before I remember playing battlefield 1 very high at 1080p at 40fps, now I played far cry 4 at ultra 1080 in 25 fps, watch dogs 1 at low 1080 in 27 fps, watch dogs 2 in low 1080 26 fps and now SIMS 4 at ultra 1080 at 15-29 fps. I don't mind overclocking, too hot. What might be the cause and how to fix?

Solution

The answer:

Buy a desktop or console. You will not play at 60FPS on ultra settings on a notebook.

Battlefield 1 is an older, less demanding game, that's why it run better, than the other games.
That’s a shame, if you had BF1 we could see if any performance had been lost.

Just checking, that is 60-70c on both cpu and gpu?

Ok in games are any cpu cores hitting 100%, not total cpu usage but individual cores.
