Yesterday I got the Samsung Odyssey. It has a GTX 1050, i7-7700hq, 16gb of ram. I'm getting MAX 20 fps no matter what game I play. I've done clean installs, rechecked all drivers etc. Set everything to run from my gpu, even set the gpu for high performance which is what jumped it from max 15 fps to max 20 fps. And it never remains stable even with low numbers. This is highly frustrating because my ASUS RoG laptop has a GTX 860M, i7-4710hq and 12gb and get 35-60 fps steady depending on the game. Why is newer, better equipment giving me worse gameplay instead of better as it should?
MERGED QUESTION Question from WarBoy : "Help W Low FPS"
I just bought a Samsung Odyssy to replace my still working ASUS RoG gaming laptop. Now, my ASUS runs a GTX860m, i7-4710hq, and 12gb of ram. Most of the time I get 30-60fps, which is fine by me since I play over WiFI most of the time. Now, in this Samsung odyssey I was stoked. GTX 1050, i7-7700hq, 16gb, and an ssd as well, woo hoo right? BLEH. I'm literally getting 5-15 fps no matter what game I play on the Samsung odyssey. I've updated all drivers, (even the firmware for the bios), tweaked NVidia for high performance etc. Nothing has changed. Please help, I've been on 12 different forums with no response.
