FTA signals

When I tune my C-Band dish to T5 channel 5, I can then turn on my FTA
receiver and see channels there. However, I notice that the position of the
dish that gives me the best C-band signal is not the best position for my
FTA signal. Is that normal? Since it is the same satellite, it looks like
what is optimal for one would apply to both. Does that mean my dish is not
aligned properly?

Ku band signals, where many of the FTA signals are, requires much tighter
antenna adjustments then C band. What may appear to be a fine C band signal
will not be the case for Ku. However, if you align your dish based on a Ku
signal, theC band channels on the same bird will be at their best!

I noticed if I bump mine west or east I sometimes I can improve the
signal a bit on V vs H channels. Maybe my scaler ring isn't aligned
perfectly. This is on c band. KU on the same sats almost always
require a bump right or left.
