Question Galaxy S3 Factory Reset Problem

Hi everyone! I've got an odd problem. I pulled out my old Samsung Galaxy S III and factory reset it so I could use it as a dedicated music player. Setup tells me I need to sign in to my Google account in the browser. Unfortunately, the only browser is the Samsung Internet Browser, which is no longer supported and tells me it can't do it. It won't let me sign into the Play Store to get Chrome. I can't get Chrome because I can't get Chrome. Does anyone have a solution for this? I've spent a couple days trying to find solutions from my laptop. I've even been trying to find a Linux distro compatible with my Galaxy S III. I love it and I don't want to lose it.
