my brother has the galaxy tab a t510 with 3 gb of memory he says he needs more how much can he put in this tablet? and then if it is worth while i will have him trasnfer default to the sd card if that can be done. he has tons of medical files he has to get back and forth all the time and he has ran out of internal storage. so if he can get 129 or 50or even up to 500 gb of sd card storage then he can transfer all his medical to the sd card and run from that. thanks

You can't increase the main system memory of the device. So, if it has 3GB now, that is it.

You can't increase the internal memory, whatever storage level it has now is set (with 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB).

By using a SD card, he can add up to 512GB/1TB of external memory.

thanks. i do not know the memory but that is not the issue. he ran out of storage and was going to get a new tablet with 128gb and i told him to wait a bit until i found out if the one he is using now can have the storage increased? he has 32 gb internal and i looked up that model and seen it has a slot for external storage. so if he can do 500 gb that will out live him being i do internet all day and tons of data and my 5oo gb drive is doing good so far. so i will see about getting him a 500 gb sd card and get it in his tablet and then set the table to default to the sd card or external storage. that should not be to hard, my guess it is like doing external on a phone. and there should be lots of YT showing how to do that. so what might be the best external sd card so he does not ahve to worry about it failing? i got a 1tb thumb stick once and it failed in about a week. so i must not have got a good brand. i see lenevo 2tb drive on ebay could that be good brand and work in this tab a t510 tablet?
thanks for that help.
