Game lags when i charge and play

when i play dota my game dosen t lag but then i play while charging all of a sudden the brightness increases or decreases and my game lags for a few seconds. After a while again the brightness get s back to normal and my game lags for a few seconds. Wat do i do to get rid of this lag?
HP AB029 TX
1TB hd, 940 m 2 gb graphic, i5 processor. 4gb ram ddr.

Hi,

Do make some changes in NVIDIA power management, it maybe the one causing the problem.
- Right click on your desktop screen without hitting any icons and select NVIDIA Control panel.
- Click on Manage 3D settings and on the right pane look for Power management mode.
- Select Prefer maximum performance and save that settings.
