Around 2 months ago I replaced my GTX 660 with a EVGA GTX 970. For around a month after this my games ran beautifully and without problem. Recently however, primarily in the last 3 weeks my games have begun crashing to desktop. Often when I play games Skype will crash, or the game will crash and other times every single program on my PC will crash. When playing some games my entire windows will crash with a "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" however this is quite infrequent.
It has now got to the point where I can only play a game for less than 25 minutes without it crashing and this applies to all games regardless of how graphically demanding they are.
My computers' specs are:
i5 3rd generation running @ 3.4 ghz
EVGA Nvidia GTX 970
1TB Hard drive
8GB Ram memory
600W power supply
Windows 10
Fixes Tried:
- I was running windows 7 last week, so I completely formatted my hard drive deleted every file and piece of software including the OS, i then bought a fresh copy of windows 10 and installed it on the formatted hard drive.
- I have run memtestx86 which returned no errors and said my RAM was working fine.
- I have run malware bytes to check my system which has also detected no threats.
- I have updated all drivers and reinstalled all my games along with deleting everything on my pc when I upgraded OS so I am almost Certain i do not have a virus or any malware or botched installs.
Please remember that this was happening prior to me upgrading my OS.
Error information:
Nearly every single error when my programs crash have the error code 0xc0000005.
