I went outside once, but the graphics weren't all that great.

Gaming is the pinball or pool of the new millenium. Starts with "G", rhymes with "T", which stands for "Trouble". (With apologies to Music Man)
Gaming is blamed for all the things that used to be blamed on pinball, pool, rock music, feminism, masturbation, etc. The same people that dump all over gaming, will sit and passively watch garbage "Reality TV" for hours and hours at a time, and then talk obsessively about it at work the next day. They lead shallow lives and NEVER actually participate in their own entertainment. Gaming at least requires you to participate and contribute to your own entertainment. How do YOU spend your leisure time?? Is reading a book more or less passive and inactive than playing a computer game?? Is planting your ass in front of the TV morally superior??
Gaming allows you to satisfy your need for adventure, excitement, and the universal human need to acquire cool stuff. Only when you acquire cool stuff in a game, no Malaysian child was exploited; no garbage was created; and you don't have to buy a bigger house to contain all the crap that "Normal" people fill their houses with. "Gaming has caused our child to lose touch with the rest of the family". So, where is the child's computer? In his/her bedroom? Put ANYTHING that is interesting in a child's bedroom, and the child will gravitate to that location when they are bored. Who put the computer in the bedroom? Who is at fault when the child withdraws to the bedroom?
My son is a total gaming fanatic. His computer is in the family room, where everyone else spends time. He is right there, where I can monitor what he is doing, talk to him about things (I know, a truly bizarre concept), and actually understand what he sees in his hobby. It's time for the Moron Majority to get a friggin life and enter the 21 century. Stop blaming "gaming" for your shitty parenting, and grow up.
