Just looking for a decent gaming laptop that can play Minecraft, WOW, Diablo 3, etc on at least medium.

15.3-17 inch screen.

Backlit color- blue, red, or green.

Seems like the only cool back-lit laptops are Alienware, but none of them are good for around 1000. :(

HP has this laptop http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-Pavilion/A3F49AV?HP-Pavilion-dv6t-7000-Quad-Edition-Entertainment-Notebook-PC you could customize it and put a better gpu in it for gaming. Don't worry about RAM when choosing a laptop because it is easily upgradable and relatively cheap. It's not backlit, but with the 650M in it you could play any game (just not with the best settings). I don't know a whole lot about laptops though because I don't have one. Try looking around for some benchmarks or articles on the best gaming laptop.

Yes you did and i just wrote my response there as well.

I would stay away from Alienware. Dont feed dell more money. Alienware is just overpriced and its obvious that it is. You are paying for the logo, its like buying a macbook, you are paying a premium for the brand.

If you're serious about the Alienware i ask that you give a glance at this MSI http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=6&id=370

And then make your decision. I trust MSI, I've bought they're motherboards and graphics cards and have always been pleased. I expect no less of them with one of their laptops.

Just wondering, why didn't you get the MSI?

I am sit on a nice colored backlit keyboard or I would consider MSI.

After searching and finding the perfect laptop on there I was crushed by a 2700$ price tag lol.

Feels like I sometimes care more about the looks because I really like the backpack and headset from Alienware to add onto purchasing the laptop... can imagine them looking nice all together. xD

Dammit if only that i7 mx14 was 1000 i would get it... thinking of looking for it refurbished or something because its 1400 if I could find it for 300 less I would be a happy duck.

Cyberpower also has some nice laptops, but once again always at least 1500+ for any laptops that look nice. :p

My budget is a strict $800 so i couldnt go with the MSI. The Y400 will give me everything i need for $800 :)

The MSI does have backlighting on the keyboard, at least i think it does you can try to look up some videos. for $1100 it better have a backlit :p

Laptops are generally harder to OC, especially with the current Intel mobile processors being non-K edition. SetFSB, if it supports it, would allow OCing through the BCLK adjustment. However, it will also increase PCI-E, RAM, and other motherboard's systems' clock rate, so use it with caution.

The GPUs can also be OCed by MSI Afterburner or other programs, but usually their voltage is locked.

Do be warned that your laptop should have decent thermal performance before OCing it. You may have to do some modifications to it.

All I know is that in Mac's they overclock themselves when gaming or something.

So for this lenovo laptop I have no idea what exactly you mean by doing some modifications, it seems for a noob overclocking isn't an option lol.

As you are planning buy a gaming laptop can play Minecraft, Runescape, World of Warcraft, Shaiya, and those types of lower-end games on a tight budget, you can consider Acer Aspire V3-551-8469, under $500

For the games listed I recommend you look into the new AMD Trinity A10 CPU it comes with the new APU that has graphical capabilities comparable to the dedicated GT 630m. Stay away from intel integrated graphics. At 768p resolution the A10s 7660g can handle games very well WoW, Minecraft, and Diablo 3 would be able to play at high very well.
