Gaming laptop for Arma 3 Ideas

Alright, today is my friends birthday and he wants a laptop for arma 3. Is there any good gaming laptop under 750$ with such specs? Thanks for the help

Buying a laptop for your friend? How nice of you lol.
I would highly suggest a gaming desktop over a laptop any day. A laptop for the same price as a desktop will drastically reduce your upgradability and efficiency while playing games, which is what you get for portability.
It would be best to know something like where you live. I'm going to assume that you live in the United States. In this case it wouldn't take much to play Arma 3. A Nvidia 650m would meet your needs perhaps close to Max settings but I don't think you will find anything decent for that price.

This is the best I could find that would be for gaming, anything below that price line is a waste of money. The 750M in SLI will play any game you throw at it at an acceptable setting and in any case $ > any present

Also, a desktop will be cheaper - or at least, you can get more powerful equipment in it for approximately the same as what you would spend on a low tier to middle tier gaming laptop.

The ideapad Carbonate linked you to is a good system. You can get it cheaper by going through Lenovo directly, and it also comes in a 14" screen.

I meant anything below the laptop I linked is likely to be a waste of money. If your friend wants to purely game on a laptop it is a horrible idea. The speed and graphics will be slowed down massively than a same priced computer build. It is harder to clean also. It won't last as long as a desktop.

I've had my asus rog laptop for about 5 yrs now and I play arma 3 all the time. I also play many other games and arma is really only one of the few that I can't play at max settings. So gaming on a laptop IMO is not as bad as people make it out to be. I have fun everywhere I travel gaming on it.

Agree, people who claim that are usually guys who play 12h per day at the minimum. Not that I want to be offensive or anything, but there's more in life than gaming. I like games, but it's not like I will play 12 hours straight. Anyway, I suggest you follow the steps above deciding your system:

1) If you're going to have your pc at house purely for gaming, get a console
2) If you're going to have your pc at house for multi purposes, and would mind a few fps, get a desktop
3) If you're going to travel or might think that it's a good idea to get a portable device just in case and want it to do anything included casual gaming and wouldn't mind a few fps, get a laptop

I, personally, wouldn't trade 10 fps for portability

Just as a reference for number one (1). Watch dogs is playable with a ps3/4 for 200$/500$. You would need atleast a 780 ti which costs 700$ alone, how much is the full system?
