DVD Rom/Writer at the least. Not sure about the rest.

I prefer Lenovo, HP, or Toshiba. If there's any other brands that I don't know of that are good as well, that would be fine except for ASUS.

If you can do $850-900 the best deal by far is the Lenovo Y580. It's got an i7 3610QM and a 660m GPU. Although the resolution is a bit lower than you wanted (1366 x 768). But it's still a great laptop and what I ended up getting. http://www.lenovo.com/products/us/laptop/ideapad/y-series/y580/
