Specs- 5th Generation Intel i7 Dual Core + Intel HD graphics 5500
8gb memory

Would that be good for GTA/Skyrim/BF4 at mid-high settings?

I could upgrade to a GeforcGeforce 940m 2gb from the integrated but that would be stretching my budget

Any laptop you buy with integrated graphics, will give you an absolutely terrible gaming experience for any sort of resource demanding game. Skyrim may run at low-medium settings.
