So in my search for a high-end desktop replacement laptop that can play the lastest games on the highest settings at a resolution of at least 1920x1080 and maintaining 40-60 FPS, I've been trying to configure a system that will keep me under $5k USD, while still including the latest CPU and GPUs (SB core i7 - 2920XM and nvidia 485M), and the fast loading power of SSDs.
My question is, how much SSD should I get for a laptop? Most of the desktop replacement models I'm looking at have 3 HDD bay options available, but some only two. I would like at least 500GB of over all storage. Is having all SSD HDD capacity necessary to keep my load speeds up, or would having for example, one 160GB SSD and then a slower 500GB 7200 RPM HDD be good enough? The other consideration was system temperature - I know the SSDs keep the weight of the system down as well as the heat produced.
Any help here is appreciated.
