So I go away on holiday in a few weeks and I'm looking for a gaming laptop, I have a gaming PC that I build a few months ago and would be using that most of the time at home so I don't want to spend too much.
I don't know too much about Laptop hardware and how it differs from PC so suggestions would be good.
I found this one at eBuyer and the specs seem pretty good for the price, what do you think? http://www.ebuyer.com/737456-msi-gl62-6qc-gaming-laptop-9s7-16j612-065

I should add that I'll mostly be playing Smite I don't plan on playing anything too graphically advanced.

950m vs 940m is generally worth the cost for the upgrade, you would be able to run newer games for longer and current games at higher settings and/or smoother.

Thanks, will this one be good for a few years or should I look at spending more for future proofing? Like I said the main game I'll be playing is Smite so if it can run that smoothly I'll be happy with it.

If you want to get a system with a bit of life in it for future games, you would want a laptop with a 960m video card, that is the mid-range right now. The 940M in the MSI you linked is on the low end now, which means in a few years, or even on demanding games now, it will run slow.

You need to up your budget by a few 100 to get a laptop with a 960M. I also suggest looking for one with a solid state drive, the larger the better so you can run programs off it.

Do you have any suggestions for that price range? I'd be okay with spending more but I'm just not sure if I can justify the price when I might not use it all that much, but if you could recommend some to me that would be great :)

This may be OK http://www.ebuyer.com/726289-pc-specialist-optimus-vii-v15-960-gaming-laptop-pcs-l860515 I don't know the brand too well, but the few times I have seen it mentioned it was rated over average.

I saw this one on the site and it looks good but I read some things about a short battery life which might cause some problems.

So it's not specifically this system that has a short battery life? If so I'll probably get this one + a portable charger or something like that.

Another thing I meant to ask is how are the 950m cards? Is it a significant improvement over the 940?
