Hello how could i reset the bios password on a gateway solo 2500 laptop

on a desktop computer you could clear the password by taking out the cmos battery or using a jumper on the mobo but for laptops there is no option like that. the only way i see is to let gateway clear it for you or take a risk by finding a program that will be able to clear the password or crack it from within the OS or from some kind of boot disk.
