Hi I'm torn between 2 laptops

Below are the specs

Acer Aspire E15 (E5-575G-52H9)
Intel Core i5 6200u 2.3GHz - 2.8GHz
4GB DDR4 RAM
1TB HDD
GeForce 940MX 2GB DDR5

Acer V Nitro VN7-772G-57N0
Intel Core i5 6200u 2.3GHz - 2.8GHz
4GB DDR4 RAM
1TB HDD
GTX950m 4GB DDR3

Basically the only difference is the GPU. Difference in price is around $150. I use this laptop for college and gaming. I normally play Battlefield, CSGO and TF2.

Is there a significant difference in the GPU as the non GTX gpu uses 2GB GDDR5 while the GTX version uses GDDR3? I'm not really knowledgeable in GPU but GDDR5 is better than GDDR3 right? I'm just not sure if a GTX950m would still be better than a Geforce 940MX even with a GDDR3. If there is not much of a difference I might just go for the Acer Aspire and save the $150. Many thanks

Solution
I think a 950M with DDR3 would be faster than the 940M with GDDR5. The difference between the GDDR5 and DDR3 950M versions is %20 at most, is about 15% on average. The difference between the PassMark score for a 940M and a 950M is about 50%. So even the DDR3 950M should be at least 20% faster than the 940M with GDDR5.

But he's talking about the 940MX, not the 940M. But the 950M should still be faster. :D

The 940mx is basically a renamed 940m with GDDR5 support, the shader performance is nearly identical
