Get contacts from old phone

I need to find out How to retrieve my contacts from my old phone

How were your contacts entered and to what service where they saved to? Are they in your gmail? Saved to the service provider like Verizon? Local file? Many times they will just populate once you set up your email accounts.

Then when you logon to your account to your new phone they should be available to you.
Or logon to your google account on the computer and you should be able to see your contacts there.

You can use an app to do that easy, that is what i did.
