Getting my subwoofer to work please ? =[

Hello! I've been trying to get my subwoofer, Yamaha YST-SW012, to be able to play the bass when I have music going on Spotify, iTunes, or whatever. It is being paired up with some stereos, sony HCD-CBX3.

I do believe that I have correctly connected the bass to my computer because when I audio test everything in Realtek HD Audio Manager, the bass will play.

I do hear bass when I listen to music, but it's just coming from the stereos and not the subwoofer. :S what am I doing wrong?

Try setting it to 2.1 instead of 5.1 since you do not have surround sound. Also try turning on bass management. You will also have to balance the volume of the woofer and the volume of the Sony. If the Sony is too loud the sub may not be balanced and be hard to hear.
