Solved! Getting no signal from source on DVD player

Plays dvd but to record get no signal has always worked well but suddenly does not get a signal. Dvd plays ok only recording does not work.

Which brand and model is the recorder made of?

Which source do you use? Cable, satelite, Terrestrial? analogue or digital?

Philips DVDR 3460H.
Source is satellite sky + box

It could be that the Sky content you are trying to record is copy-protected, in which case an external recorder won't record it --- that type of content can only be recorded with built-in recording feature of some Sky boxes (eg Sky+/Sky+HD/Sky Q)

If that's not the reason it won't record, well it's possible your Philips recorder is faulty.

The analogue signal might be disconnected, check all cables

Check how the Recorder is connected to the box + sky. Is it scart or antenna?
If scart, is the receiver connected to the EXT2 AUX-I/O of the recorder?

Which sky receiver + box is it exactly?
