Getting pix from old inactive cell phone

I dropped my S4 on hard pavement and the screen cracked. It will turn on, but there is no light, so I'm unable to see anything. I bought a used S4 from ebay and want to get my pictures off the first phone. How can I do this if I can't see anything?

Plug it into a computer. You can navigate through the phone's storage as if it were a flash drive. Just drag and drop the things you need onto your computer, then transfer it to the new phone.
