Ghost windows server 2008 to a newer machine?

Hi i would like to know. can you ghost windows server 2008 to a newer machine or will there be driver issues?

Anytime you move to a new motherboard, there will be issues. It is always recommended to do a clean install of the OS when moving to a new system.

Two solutions i know:

1. find a disk clone/copy program. You can use this program to clone/copy the whole hard disk with the system on it. This is only applicable if the configuration environment are totally same.

2. Use backup software with hardware independent restore supported. Many backup kit claims they can recover to dissimilar hardware to a new hardware with different configuration.
