the next step in video technology should be better image quality, i don't mean resolution, i mean colors. the human eye can see far more colors than our televisions and displays can produce. 32bit, 48bit and 64bit color doesn't look anything like staring out your window.
next we need better contrast between light and dark images, most of the modern televisions have the darkest and brightest colors cut off short. we really need better dark image quality.
