Going to wipe my laptop clean

Hello, I want to wipe my laptop clean because for some reason its not working like it used to...( long boot up 10min +) and I would like to put Vista back on for now (windows7 later) so my question is: On my Dell laptop, is the "product key" on the bottom my CD key for Windows Vista?

The serial number should be on the bottom of your laptop, and should be designated by Windows and whatever OS your computer shipped with. So if it's Windows Vista, it will say that plus which version it is, the a bar code and serial will be below it.

it will be a sticker that says Windows on it.

Don't confuse it with your laptop serial number or a different sticker.
