Good 2.0 Speakers

I'm looking to buy a set of speakers for a new gaming computer I'm building and the monitor I'm using doesn't have them built in. I'm really just looking for basic audio but I do want these speakers to be quality. So what are some 2.0 speakers that you'd recommend?

I also need a desktop microphone (I don't really like clip-on style ones). I'll just be using it for Skype so I don't need a very good one. I realize there's tons of different ones out there and there all pretty cheap but are there some brands I should go with and others to avoid when it comes to picking this microphone out?

creative inspire A220 2.1 are very good speakers and creative are well known for their product's quality

I'm looking specifically for 2.0 speakers because I have no need for a sub woofer.
