Good Free Collage Software

Hey guys, im just wondering if theres any software where i can put multiple jpegs together and slightly edit them to look nice in a collage. I need it to be free and decent. also, it should be able to save the final collage as a single jpeg file.

I think any image manipulation program with support for layers, like GIMP, will let you do what you need to do. It's perhaps a little confusing at first but there are plenty of tutorials on the web about how to use it.
