Hey there,
First off I am sorry in advance if there is already a thread out there that just discussed this, it is pretty late and I did not see a common thread off the bat when I looked.
Well, I am going to start Computer Science at University soon so I am undergoing a system built which I have been saving up for a long time. I pretty much have everything I need for the system but I also want to move to professional gaming on the PC and also perhaps making videos in my spare time if I feel like it. I thought what it would be good to buy a good Audio Headset that has great sound but no microphone and then invest into a Blue Snowball iCE ( http/www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Microphone-Snowball-iCE-Adjustable/dp/B006DIA77E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369784367&sr=8-1&keywords=blue+snowball )
I personally think it is better to buy the headphones and microphone separate rather than buying a headset with the microphone as the quality would improve surely not? I tried making videos in the past but honestly I was not very confident but at the moment I have a part time job talking to people over the phone (I am a pre-screen consultant) and I think I will be more confident making videos and talking in public, but I want to sound clear and crisp which brings me onto my main question.
Would it be worth it to buy a Amplifier for my voice such as a art tube mp project series or perhaps invest in a better quality mic? Is it good to buy a headset with no mic so I can invest more into audio rather than all round quality? In summary I am really asking on someone advice: I need a good quality Audio Headset and Microphone for around £200.
So far I think:

And the Snowball
- Both come to a price for around £100, but I would be willing to pay over that for quality.
I am looking for something that would be a long term investment to.
Please feel free to tell me I am completely wrong and I am going by it all wrong and I should just buy a headset or whatever. I got the idea of an amplifier form a setup video were the guy said it really makes your voice change and sound warm and crisper, which I think would help with the quality of videos... and honestly I am from Newcastle and I do not have great punctuation of words .
I would like to thank anyone in advance for a reply and for your time reading this post and helping me out.
Thank you for reading, Ivan.
