Good low-priced small type laptop good for school

im looking for a cheaper laptop that I could use for school. (and maybe for gaming a little but not a huge factor) I have about $1000-$1200 to spend. Any Ideas? I dont care what brand, but I havn't been very happy with Dell.

The Mac would solve all your needs and can be had for around that price range too.

Ill probably go with a mac. Ive never used one before (extensively) but ive heard good things. That core duo should be pretty nice.
