Pretty sure the USB component on mine has bit the dust and I'm looking to replace it with either the same thing or an improved sound card. thoughts?

i think the audiocard itself was still a good one for daily uses,i own a scarlett 18i8 for my guitar, piano and two of condenser mics, and it do sounds great but it do not have surround options.

if you use the computer to make content or music, maybe scarlett was a good one

That looks to be a small USB dongle, you can easily find better stuff. Sennheiser has rebranded their "gaming" stuff to Epos now https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-1...ocphy=9001834&hvtargid=pla-422445418473&psc=1

If you don't need anything fancy like that the GSX 300 has a headphone and mic inputs https://www.eposaudio.com/en/us/gam...irOFCFwABIDx_XvLgjkkFJt5s7CXwcRsaAgTsEALw_wcB

Even cheaper, HyperX makes a usb virtual surround sound dac https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Amp-S...ocphy=9001834&hvtargid=pla-569337145102&psc=1
