Google: .02% of Users Affected By Gmail Bug

I believe the setup of cloud technology is superior to general home users in terms of backup and reliability. This however highlights one reason to keep your own local copy either through in-browser google gears or through desktop software such as outlook.

Ideally it would be nice to see cloud services allowing the possibility of sharing or backing up your data on another cloud.
 
Millions of posts on the CPU comeptition and nobody has anything to say about Google wiping off emails for tens of thousands of users?
