Maybe they should stop having their webdev team completely redesign the website every other month, and just work on performance-related issues instead. I bet that'd save them a pretty penny (and piss me off less).

if you tube dies , some one else will jsut replace it .. that said , it'ssad how this country finds away to make every thing into a buck..quite disgusting really, it's why teh music , movie industry sucsk ,adn wil soon be the reason why teh game industry sucks as well , no oen cares about art for art sakes any more , just churn otu what makes money adn that's all any oen cares about , whats more said is the fact that poepel buy that crap up , i seriously can't think of a single "block buster" movie that was worth more than one nights low brow entertainment, and i see more and more games getting like this as well. the point i'm harping on is that every oen turns every thing into a cash cow to be milked till it has nothing left in it. that's what has happened to teh internet ,i remember in the mid nineties when the internt was still mostly useful , now it's banner ads every where , 5th grade reading level news (at most places) porn, ,more ads , and did i forget to mention more ads ... oh and more porn.

Even if this were true, Google is so big that it could afford to run YT as 'loss leader'.

Let's not forget that Google and the interests behind it, also control the flow of media. This them to define the scope and direction of the YT service, thus influencing the masses - on a huge scale. So, YT may be a loss leader, but it makes Google powerful in so many other ways that really, I doubt very much that it matters to them.

Maybe it's a spam bot. I am also fed up with it; often the first comments I see are spam. Pity we can't have a system whereby trusted members can lock this stuff down, so it can be sent for processing, rather than let it annoy regulars. what do you think?

Why do I care? As much as Google has made off of my use of their search engine, the least they can do is shut up and bite the bullet! I understand that the bottom line is the only line they care about, but why not view YouTube as a residual benefit of all the other things they do from which they DO make billions annually?
