an american beer that doesn't taste like piss? If anyone can achieve this, it'll probably be Google.

[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]Too bad they don't want to enter the beer business. Android beer might be yummy and sell well.[/citation]
Gingerbread and Honeycomb sound like they would make good beers.

Cupcake, Froyo and Ice Cream Sandwich, not so much.

I'm still undecided about Donut.

belgium warrior: dubbel and trippel refer to relative strength. They used the term belgian style because they used pilsner as the main mash ingredient, which results in a "base" flavor which is significantly different from 2 or 6 row pale malt. The reason why that technique is associated with the belgian name is historical. you can find it out for yourself. using google. FYI, your words sound like a spoiled american looking for a fight over race/heritage...

@Oregon Brewer, sorry I sound like spoiled american and I'm most certainly not looking for any fight, misschien helpt het als ik wat vlaams er bij zet? I'm actually from Hoboken, which is a suburb town of Antwerp, not the NY version. I'm just proud over my heritage I guess.

Dubbel and trippel have no relation to their origin or meaning, as is commonly believed. Dubbel refers to the ingredients which were available to abbeys in the middle ages; they had far more means to obtain better ingredients, so their beer was called dubbel ( double) -as good as other beers. Trippel is usually a stronger beer, but the term trippel itself means the beer gets 3 "hergistingen" ( yeast processes?), 2 in production, the 3rd in the bottle. the bottles aren't fermented and the yeast still present in the beer gets to transform any of all remaining sugars to alcohol. Pilsner is actually a Polish invention.
