I hope EU will do the same for Youtube, so smaller YT creators will have the opportunity to have their videos shown fairly on YT's SEO and on "Suggested Videos".

This is silly. Android is their operating system. Chrome is their browser. Can you imagine an android phone not coming with chrome or a google search bar? Its like Windows not having the Edge browser or search assistant. This lawsuit and the results seem pretty shady to me.

This ruling is dumb. It's as bad as when they fined Microsoft for having IE installed with their OS. It all seems like a shameless money grab by the government. This ruling is saying that the citizens of the EU are not smart enough to seek out other web browsers or alternate OS using phones on their own.

Shameless extortion by the EU. The fact that Android makes the only decent non-iOS operating system does not make them a monopolist. Of course Android is going to integrate Chrome and Google Search. Come on.

Isn't socialism great?! I think it's hilarious that the very political platform google supports (socialism/democratic party) has come back to haunt them and now they have to "share the wealth" with the socialist EU. You can't make this stuff up! Enjoy putting your money 'where your mouth is'.

" and preventing manufacturers from selling any devices that were running alternative IOS versions that weren't approved by apple."

When will this headline follow?

So if google can't add google search or chrome to android, shouldn't apple not be able to add safari and siri to theres? This seems silly. Back in the day when Microsoft was adding IE and Office products to their OS, that was a monopoly because those products and their competitors products cost money, so of course the consumer is going to stick with the free pre-installed versions. For android though, Chrome and search are free and so are their competitors. I have already changed my search on my android phone to alexa, which you can def do now and though I use Chrome, that is a personal preference for like 5 years because I like the browser. I could go to edge, firefox, and a million other ones for free in the google store but choose not too. It isn't a monopoly if the products and their competitors are free and accessible easily.

This is a shameless act by the EU without any inclination of doubt. Imagine purchasing a mobile device with google's android os but without chrome or Google search? It's their os they should be able to say what comes pre-installed on it. I've been using samsung for good knows however how long and as good as the chrome browser is, I use the Samsung browser. That right there is my choice. Having chrome or Google search come pre-installed does not say I can't have or use another browser of my choice. Utter bs!
