where she lives is close to as far south as you can be without living in okinawa.
without googleing the exact climate of where she lives, i can say that year round it stays comfortable outside.
granted, i would take her to court, make the lawsuit fail, so there is no president (sp) set for future cases, and than give her a cash bail out in the equivalent that she lost in presuming the lawsuit and the misc crap she delt with because of this. and id only go that far because thats all she is asking for. if she was suing for the 100,000 range id tell her to go... well... you know, herself
and to everyone who complains about suing in america.
you know why companies treat you with some ammount of respect and are kept in check? because the possibility of being sued.
here ill give you an example that probably happened at some point in time.
its against the law for a company to sell you a product and force you to pay for a service that you don't want with it. like recently, a best buy around my area did this "speed up" crap to all their laptops, they were advertised at 799, but they were charging 849 and didn't have any non sped up laptops. within 15 minutes of talking they let the guy buy it for 799 go out because they cant force him to buy that service, and without any non sped up laptops, if the bbb got involved it would be allot more.
now imagine that at some point companies were addign services to everything they sold, and force the coustomers to buy it. the thing cost 10$ markup for retail it was 15$ and after services were applied, 30$ now a compediter may make it cost 29 for the same thing. and a guy sued and won.
and finally you have to understand how sueing works.
granted allot of the time those high HIGH numbers, are are there not because they want that much, but if you went in as asked for teh 100,000$ they would try to settle for FAR lower than that, its what insurance companies did a few years back, it was in the news. the woman only wanted the money to cover the injuries and cost to fix the car, the insurance told her to f off, she sued for 10 mill, to get them to try to settle for what she needed. when it went into settlement negotiations they offered her 20000 or less, when she needed the 100000. she knew her case would win, and never expected the 10 mill, but when all was said and done she was rewarded 1.7 mill. had she sued for 100000 even if she won she would have had significantly less.
