Does an android device needs a network connection before you can use it for a transaction? it won't be easier and cheaper if that's the case. The use of smartcards is still the safest way for NFC to be secure.

In Japan they have been doing it for years with no problems so why not?

Also it doesnt need a network connection no as its the retailer that coonects to your bank not you. How do u think the smartcards work?

I don't really have a feeling as to how feasible this is or not. However there is a big difference between the culture in Japan and the culture in the US. For example immediatly after Katrina there were reports of people looting, conversly in Japan nearly a week after the earthquake there were barely any reports of looting. So it's difficult to accuratly claim that because something works for one country it will work for another when many cultures differ so greatly.

But in Japan everyone obeys the traffic lights but not here. Can't compare places if the people, laws, and culture are different. Too many variables.

Have a pop up on the screen pay $x to"COMPANY NAME Y/N , verify payment through network, done? That is just a simple setup, sure they have something far better.

not sure how that relates to payment method but ok. I think its a good idea only because its one less thing to carry around and tbh most people would notice their phone missing long before their card.

Every country has a different culture but that does not mean that we do not share some needs
