This isn't a new feature. Phones sold in Japan since 2007 has had this feature native.

It does not say it is a 'new feature'... it says that Google now has an App for Android phones 🙂

'Google Goggles' app already does this, for a number of years even I believe, though perhaps not as streamlined since you have to take a pic, not just point the camera at the target text.

Interesting I thought this was a standard feature of all phones, heh it feels nice knowing my windows phone was capable of doing this for a long time.
